SA Teen Entrepreneur is all about empowering young entrepreneurs to turn their business ideas into reality and to continue watching their establishments grow from strength to strength.

The youth of today are growing up in a digital age which gives them access to a wealth of information that often shapes their view of the world and their futures. They inherit (unbidden) the environmental and economic crises that we, the older and supposedly wiser generation, have bequeathed them and many are ready to act to address change. Our ability to address social and environmental problems and our long-term economic health is very much beholden on our ability to innovate. It is our youth of tomorrow that possess a variety of innovator traits making it critical that we tap into this innovation while we still can.

We understand the value of investing in our youth, the future of our country, and hope to inspire other individuals and corporations to do the same.

Help us to Raise R660 000 for 6 000 students

A few weeks ago, we launched our all-new free online learning academy for teens based on teaching them the ins and outs of starting, running, and growing a business. We are proud to have welcomed a number of partners on board since then, including Shoprite and, most recently E3. Other treasured supporters include Tsogo Sun, the Department of Education, the Department of Trade and Industry, EM Solutions, the AMY Foundation, The River Club, and the Cape Town Rotary Club.

Our goal

We have created an incentive-based virtual currency known as TSiRU to encourage enthusiastic learners to register to join our online academy and develop their entrepreneurial skills.

The TSiRU currency works on an ‘earn as you learn’ basis and we need help to raise R660 000 for 6 000 young entrepreneurs. All registered teens from schools across the country will earn the equivalent of R10 upon the completion of every module, which can then be spent at any one of our participating retailers or donated to a good cause of their choosing. We are calling all individuals, companies, and organisations that might be in a position to help us continue encouraging and empowering these students to contribute to this programme. Every cent counts!
